Catchy title, huh?

My wife excitedly told me that Air Supply will play at an Oregon Coast Casino in July. Ah, Air Supply. This brings back memories of songs being played over and over and over and over in the eighties and nineties in Taiwan. Everywhere one went one could be assured of a steady bombardment of their top songs. It may have taken close to ten years for their charms to wear thin (in Taiwan anyway).

Guess where I'll be July 6 or 7?

My wife has been playing Air Supply songs all day today.    I never realized how poorly recorded their songs were. They're high pitched, screechy, and oh so syrupy. I'm going to buy a bottle of single malt to medicate before, during, and after.

Ah, casinos and their stage shows.  Here in Shreveport, LA there would be very little live entertainment without them and most acts are on par with Air Supply - a big hit somewhere 20 years ago.  Guess it's better than another BASS (the fish kind) tournament award ceremony.

I have their greatest hits on SACD and have listened to the DSD file several times - http://www.hraudio.net/showmusic.php?title=1177   or    http://www.sa-cd.net/showtitle/1177   or   http://www.sa-cd.net/showreviews/1177  for a few reviews.  I've found it is very good.  Certainly not fantastic but probably as good as one can get.

Dear, FRM.

Back in the day I did enjoy listening to their songs on the radio. However, I tried listening to their songs yesterday (first on my wife's Jawbone Big Jambox; next via TIDAL on my travel system), but all the songs were strident, overly bright and so foolaaaatt sounding (as opposed to flat sounding) that I gave up after the fourth song. I am in fear of going to the show. I expect it will be too loud and too much 'music overload'. I expect to require far more than 10cc to recover. And, yes, I enjoy the Bee Gees and ABBA, but I do not know Brotherhood of Man.
