New to AudioCircle

Hello! I just recently purchased my 1st type 45 SET amplifier. Found this site while looking for info about different single ended amps. Glad I am here.

Hello, jimi55.

I'd like to know more about your amp. I'm still very much a tube amp newbie.

Welcome.  I heard a Moth SET amp maybe 20 years ago with 45 tubes.  Very sensuous sound.  Now your challenge (and mine back then) is to find speakers to match it (highly efficient, don't cost a ton, and easily fits in your room).  Let us know what you find.

It was what I was to say, Iam also interested in his speakers;
I wonder what speakers he use w/just 1W?
It should be over 100dB sensitivity.

The amp is built by Oliver Sayes. I am using  a preamp by Dennis Had LP-27a and my speakers are the Tekton Mini Lore towers which are rated 95db. My listening area is small and there is more than enough volume for me. Of course I am not rocking out to Led Zeppelin but I like the sound. I assume it could get better with higher efficiency speakers but for now I am quite satisfied. Thanks for the welcomes!

I'm a speaker guy, so my guess is the Tekton speakers are overmatched to the amp (you're not hearing all the fidelity of the amp).

Howdy Audio Fans ,

My name is Ramiro from Houston,Texas but I am living in
Audiophile Hell !

Buenos Aires , Argentina.

Automatic 50% import duties on all imported electronic equipment based on the value and the shipping cost.

The Mercado Libre ( E-Bay ) copy is outrageously over priced for anything . Specially High-End. Age is absolutely meaningless!

Example : Wilson Watt Puppy 5 for about $10,000.00 uSd !

Krell KAS2 monos , recapped by Krell about $13K here and $6k in the USA !

I am running a
Wadia 122 DAC balanced into a Woo WA22 and then into a set of HD800 S latest version Fully Balanced with Cardas Clear XLR 3 pin cables.

I don't know a thing about computer audio or computers or Tubes but I almost really like it a lot.

The system actually made me CRY due to the music or the song that I was playing.

DXD or DSD probably.

DXD is the best that I have ever heard.

More later,

Thank You for allowing me to be a part of your obsession.

I am trying to send a message to Ryno to try to buy the IFI IUSB Power but it will not let me.

Happy Listening,

Tejano Libre

In banana countries astronomical customs duties is a legal depravation very usual to happen. Iam your country neighbor and in my last purchase I was fined in 2,500% over the product price+ship+insurance.

Consider yourself lucky, there is always someone worse off than us.

All I know is that the Tekton speakers with the Dennis Had Inspire Lp-27a preamp sounds great with this amp and if it sounded any better I would be in heaven.

From what I've read the Tekton Lore series is fairly well regarded. I've read reports of those who prefer them to the Reference 3A de Capos.  Can't say I like the de Capos myself, but how well they'll work with a SET is another matter.
