Danny, neodymium prices have plummeted since the high of 2011.  There's a reopening of a U.S. mine that was closed for many years and a new mine in Australia will both end the China almost monopoly on ND.  Speaker manufacturers raised their prices when ND shot up, but surprise, surprise, they haven't lowered their prices since ND came down.  The economic term for that is "price stickiness".

I've noticed.

Danny,

Are there any LS-C kits available too? Do you have a pdf of the LS-C?

Thanks,
Dean

I have plenty of LS-C kits available. All parts used in them are commonly stocked parts.

Price is $550 per unit.

Plans are here: http://gr-research.com/pdf/ls-c.pdf

Danny,

Is there any chance you might still have some of the ls-6/ls-9 woofers available? (Need 6 to 8 of them)

I recently rescued a pair of LS6s.  One of the speakers had been damaged, as I was told, by the original owner's vindictive and disgruntled ex. Curiously though, not a scratch on the finish. Just 6 fused voice coils.

Thank-you in advance even if I'm just a little too late.

If out, perhaps there would be someone in the circle that might know where I could find 6 or 8 of the ls-6 woofers? Or advice on whether re-coning is possible and/or preferable to the alternative of finding the closest suitable woofer for the cabinet volume + line source set up, and changing the cross-over to match, etc.?

Hi Danny - for how long (i.e. how many) will you have LS9 drivers in stock?  I always fear a kid accident or a similar wife incident.  A few backups wouldn't be a bad idea.

I typically hold back a few drivers for just such issues.

Super-Necro bump.

Is there any information on the LS-C ?   I am looking for an upgrade to my Onix Reference 100 center. It doesn't have enough SPL for an open floorplan.

Thank you.

Nope, but it involves the new 3" LGK drivers in an open baffle....

I'll start a new thread on it.

Super-Necro bump.

  :duh:

Got a bit excited when I read note from danny about working on a small open-baffle of the LGK.... oh.... 9 years ago....

HA HA HA - I apologize!  I've been looking at options in 2023, but apparently I missed out 9 years ago - life moves fast.
