TVC vs Lightspeed
« on: 15 Jan 2010, 10:11 am »
Am not much of a techie guy, but can anyone compare the difference between the TVC and lightspeed, i.e. advantage or disadvantage of one over the other.

Thanks!

This is not the place to do that. Saying that general audio section might be the proper place. Now if you are talking about combining the two say using a trannie based TVC and the lightspeed attenuator as a custom unit fine. Light Speeds are used in the almost $30,000 darTZeel preamp and other classic Preamps like the older Melos SHA Gold. The technology has been around since the 1970s and now it appears to have been conquered. We shall see.
In all fairness to Promitheus it is not cool IMO.

Thanks Charles for the advise.

TVC using lightspeed volume control...oohlala...that would be worth developing.

Cheers!
