Ok, I have the finish completely rubbed out. Now I just gotta assemble them.

Darren,
Those are absolutely gorgeous cabinets!

What is the finishing process you use? -Thanks

Are you planning on finishing Al's 1801's like that?

Looks like an incredibly nice finishing job. Wouldn't mind seeing something like that in person at some point.

The finishing process is quite involved. It is about 8 coats of lacquer sanded flat then rubbed out with pumice stone then with rotten stone and finally buffed out with wax. The finish itself takes about 3 days to complete including drying time.

Al's speaker will have a similar finish but it is not quite as refined as I had to try and repair his prior finish. It is close but there was damage to the veneer and solid wood that I couldn't repair completely. They are quite nice though. :)

Those look really good!  :thumb:

BTW, Bubba, I love the Bevis icon.

Believe it or not, when my computer boots up it plays their theme song.  :drums:
