Welcome / new volunteer here
« on: 5 Mar 2015, 04:35 pm »
I just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself. My name is Todd, and I will be the new facilitator for this circle. I really enjoy great movies and this fantastic Cinema Circle. This is a great way to find out about hidden gem independent movies, and great main stream movies that move us.
I think this is an exciting time to be a fan of movies. 3d and IMAX or just seeing an awesome movie on the big screen, make this an exciting time to get out for some entertainment !!
Streaming movies on Netflix , renting a super DVD is also a great experience .
Please keep the great reviews coming. Thanks for participating ,and keeping this Circle fun and exciting.
Todd

Hi, Todd.

Congratulations on your new status.  :thumb: You've no doubt heard all about the free popcorn and endless other perks that come with this position. I've heard rumors we may even start getting free movie tickets once we've volunteered for 1 year.

Uh, don't tell John I mentioned those freebies. He may not know about them yet.

Todd,
Great to have you facilitating the Cinema circle.
Seeing that you have recently taken the plunge into front projection and are enthusiastic will make your job here much more interesting.
Good luck!!

Thanks Bob, I am loving watching movies on our new "big" screen. It's a blast for the whole family !
That said, I wish I got out to the movie theater a bit more often .  I usually try to catch the movies that I think will be epic in the big screen( last one was  Intersteller in IMAX)  I do go to the theater mostly with my eight year old daughter seeing a lot of animated films. Surprisingly , many of them are really well done !! Recently , I enjoyed  The Book of the Dead , which had beautiful animation, and Big Hero 6 , which was also really well done. And , The Lego Movie a while back .
I also spend some time researching reviews trying to keep a pulse on great movies that may have escaped my attention.  I enjoy Netlix TV series, movies, and the great documentaries they offer.

Last time I took my family (of four) it cost about $150, snacks included, to see a show.
Certainly made my HT room look like a bargain...in the grand scheme.  :duh:

Being that nobody even noticed that the previous facilitator hadn't logged on since 2013, I'd say your chances are pretty strong brother

Bob, that's crazy! :o
I must admit , I'm guilty of bringing snacks and juice boxes for me and my kid, and a friend if we bring a guest . :nono:

Hi Todd,
with the home theater my wife's got,
I am not the one that will brag about have the best,
however, I do like to watch movies, even in our old prehistoric
28" Cathode TV and our 35 USD DVD player, but to me,
a good movie is a good movie and when you are in the middle of the action
(Even if it's only a stereo system) you can still be involve.
Well I'm sure the Audio Circle members will be in good hands wit you.
Thanks.

It's been almost a year now - have they stopped by to measure you for the coveted AC 3D glasses yet?
