Running with Opera
« on: 7 Jun 2012, 06:07 pm »
With gout flaring and my A1C level squarely in the type 2 Diabetes range, I started running with my dog.  I had always relied on interactive sports for physical activity but I couldn't join soccer or ultimate leagues with my current work/family schedule.  So I am running with my dog in the evenings.  I am up to 3 miles a evening and after 3 months my A1C is below the 130 threshold.  It is working for me and I am going to continue with running and even increase distance.  But, man,  I need tunes to get through.  I broke down and got an I-pod and a pair of Shure SE115 on discount.  When I am sucking air and pushing to get through the last block, I need music that will pick me up and carry me home.

I will start with two that get my blood flowing and legs pumping:

Triumphal March

Toreador Song
