Air drummer here.
Welcome, nothin' wrong with that. :drums:
I occasionally incorporate drums into my air guitar technique depending on which instrument line I'm following. Like with In-a-godda-da-vida it's a given I'm going to switch to drums at the jungle beat solo.
When listening to Rush I quite often combine the bass line with the guitar line. :smoke:

Some more tunes for audiophile Air Guitarists.
Freebird a good song to warm up the chops and jam to before you attempting Thrash Metal.
Yes Thrash Metal! First up Jesus Prose, not to be attempted by amateurs, you gotta be quick to keep up with the kick ass bass line. (Amateurs could throw out their back) followed by Kick Stand and Rusty Cage by Soundgarden.
Next up if you're still standing after this speedfest, you can mellow out with 'In My Time of Dying by Jimmy Page. Your slide guitar technique and endurance will be tested to the max with this one. So if you have a heart conditions maybe you should pass on this and play something slow like Burl Ives. :smoke:

Joe Satriani "Live is San Francisco' now playing. Just a groovin' keeping up with this guitar god. :guitar:

Up till now if you're an Air Guitarist you probably think you're pretty good. That may be because you haven't come across Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers. I'm talking Fillmore East and in modern times that includes Eat a Peach.
If you try standard picking technique you will find yourself getting in trouble fairly quickly on songs like In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, Statesboro Blues, Whipping Post, Mountain Jam. Unfortunately we have no video to confirm the picking technique Duane used. However if you listen carefully while playing you will find the standard technique doesn't work.
So be creative here by employing a multiple finger picking technique and you won't be crossed up on the fly as to how the heck did he create that sound. Yes, he was that good and if you're going to imitate him you have to be at your best. :smoke:

Probably my best was late one night at the Dublin House on West 79th Street in NYC. Can't remember what I was playing but it must have been awesome. Because I was later found on the floor of the washroom. Fortunately there were people there who knew where I lived. Unfortunately the cab they hailed refused to carry an unconscious person. As I had been carried out of the bar 'walking on the top of my feet' the bartender was heard to call out "Another satisfied customer!" Good times, at least the ones I can remember.
