I have about 1800 LP's stored in Kallax shelving from IKEA. It is fairly cheap and if you anchor it to the back wall no worries about depth.

I just stack these up and they are rock solid since they are essentially double walled. You can arrange them any way you want.  At $19.49 a piece,  6 of them is not too much over VALJE.

Woodsyi- it looks like the dimensions of the item you linked to would not even be able to hold a record sleeve. I thought LP sleeves were about 12.25" square. 'Compartment' dimensions wouldnt even be able to accommodate that.

"Dimensions: 12.8 " H x 13.4 " W x 11.2 " D
Weight: 4.7 Lb.
Compartment Dimensions: 11.2 " H x 11.8 " W x 11.2 " D"

My Kallax shelf.

I used PL400 on all the joints when putting it together. Also added a 1/2" plywood back and screwed to the wall. Hold well over 2000 lps. Hopefully if the big one hits, they don't crush me in my sleep.

Construction adhesive: super thick glue.

It is very strong, and capable of bridging a 1/4" gap... Ikea tolerances.

I don't know about the compartment dimension values.
This is what I have and records, even boxed sets, fit fine.

Here is a closer up picture.

I would not stack. No way of securing them without causing problems.

The link below will take you to Walmart. It is what I use to store my LP's.  It is priced at $68.00 for an 8 bay unit and comes in multiple colors and sizes. It may be worth a look for folks who don't have a Ikea near by.

They are modular.  Wooden pegs come with for stacking.  You know, pegs in the hole, line up the top one, slot it in, repeat...
I have had no problems but then stacking could be a challenge to some. :duh:

I didn't know they had pegs..

All you had to do is say so before.

Woodsyi- WOuld you be able to measure the dimensions of your cubes (esp the inner compartment dimensions). They do look like a nice option, but I can't get over the fact that the inner dimensions of the product link you sent out would not be able to fit an LP!

"Dimensions: 12.8 " H x 13.4 " W x 11.2 " D
Weight: 4.7 Lb.
Compartment Dimensions: 11.2 " H x 11.8 " W x 11.2 " D"

I will measure it and report back, probably after the 3 day hiatus.
