YBA DT Integre with Reference 3a
« on: 12 Nov 2005, 10:37 am »
HI there

I was wondering if anyone had heard these two combinations together. I was thinking of matching my YBA with the Dulcet model. I'm looking for a second system in my home/office. Any comments of opinions about any other Reference 3mm with the YBA DT  would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Simon

Hi Sam,

I don't have any experience with the TB Integre however I have heard the Dulcets on a number of occasions.  It's a great little speaker with tremendous bass output for it's small size.  It disappears completely and has a fairly large soundstage.

There was a pair on A'gon for just $695!! but they sold:

There is another pair for $900:

As always the absolute best way to know if anything will work in your setup is to test it for yourself.  So many products out there are wonderful yet when paired up don't work as expected.  Component synergy is vitally important.

I have had experience with both, but not together. I imagine it would be quite a good match, as I remember the Integré to be lean and clean in the bass, the general sound could be characterized as open and clear, revealing of detail but smooth at the same time. The (early) version of the Ref 3A Decapo I heard in 1993 was very generous in the bass; I haven't heard the newer versions, but if the family sound has been retained, I would imagine it would be quite the symbiotic pairing. The power is about right, too.

Hey Russell! (still enjoying the CD thanks!)

Yeah the Dulcet does have a little bump in bass to give a fuller bottom end response.

Sounds like it could be a sweet combo.  :D

I have been using the TBA Integre DT for 5 years total, and one year with the MM deCapo-i. This is one sweet integrated and it matches superbly with the deCapo. I also use a PrimaLuna Prologue 2, with the deCapo-i, which is also excellent. You will not regret using the YBA.

I have a pair of Royal Masters made in France and YBA DT Amp and preamp. Very musical. I have been playing with Audio now for 15 years and don't think I can do much more now. Cables are very important and power cords are equally important.
