Hello,
I have a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 705s2 speakers and in terms of sound I am wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to what I can expect with the following configurations.
K 38 bridged into four channels and bi-amped
ST-10 x2 bi-amped into each speaker
ST-10 just on its own
Hi there -
First - it would be bi-wire, not bi-amp. The internal crossovers cannot be defeated. I use the K38 as all the channels make it easy for me to proto biamp and triamp speakers. In 400 x 4 it is amazing.
That said, I don't think you need to bi-wire if your amp is solid to begin with. A single st-10 will work fine. If you want to increase dynamic headroom - then get 2 - ST-10M amps. My Ruby speaker sounds fine with 100 watts. I tried 200 on the MK38 - WOW.... So I then tried 400 - I fell over. It wasn't about SPLs, but rather dynamics, resolution etc.
Pretty amazing stuff - have fun
