Oh. Is it permament? The hifiman website says $899, but then I found their online store where it is 499 but says it's on special.

Don't know, but many of the major online retailers like Newegg and B&H Photo have it for $499.  Crutchfield says "This item is no longer available", so I suspect this model is on it's way to being discontinued.

I think the HE560 is in his last days and this price is to clean the stock, or a new 560 is coming.

Hm. Well, I guess it's a sweet deal still, compared to the original price (which I paid  :o :lol:)

Perhaps they weren't selling very well. I dunno. Perhaps they are working with massdrop to bring out a HE56X for $300. Who knows  :duh:

Uummmm...

Are you saying headphones should not have low bass response? You do realize that they aren't going to produce 6-12 Hz all by themselves?

A new model in this range would be nice to HifiMan, say an HE600 w/the same price, that Susvara w/$6K tag got bad to HifiMan, now they are offering an Susvara + EF1000 amp for $12 grand :duh:
