Insofar as loss of life appears to be a consistent contributor to loss of hearing, I will answer yes!

Can an audiophile use a hearing aid?

What I mean is, can one still be considered an audiophile if they use hearing aid(s)?

I know someone who is 77 with especially bad hearing; she needs to wear 2 hearing aids just to get on with a normal conversation. Yet despite listening to my system without her hearing aids, she was astonished by the clarity and three dimensional presentation. So it would seem to me as long as one can hear to one degree or another, they can appreciate certain elements of high quality sound reproduction.  :thumb:

Not with current technology. Hearing aids only compensate across a very limited band of frequencies, primarily in the midrange.

Just after the CD release in 1980s I was in a local music shop, there was two erderly a judge and a doctor both retired discussing brands:
-My digital Philips is better.
-No, mine is Siemens analogue, analogue is always better...
After afew minutes the seniors goes out for a express at the Cafeteria I asked to the shop owner what they are talking about:
-It was about new CD players?
-No its his hearing devices they use...
