Guy13 at your age you have already boomed

Just Kidding Bro. I am right behind you. A few years, anyway.

I always took my Mom to see PP and M at Wolftrap here in VA.
The only US National Park Center for The Performing Arts.

It is an amphitheater with an insanely good sound system. An immensely beautiful place.
The only place even close IMHO is Red Rocks.

Anyway, Peter, Paul and Mary. Brings us way back. And way front. Love them always.

Can't wait to here that - yes - just a few years behind guy (62 in 4 weeks).  Saw them live at one of the Presidential Inaugura's (I think Clintons).  It was really freezing cold that day and crowded and the crowd was more or less pushed into the tent where they were playing.

Guy,
Unbelievable.
For some reason I woke up this morning with Norwegian Wood in my head and all morning, I couldn't shake it.
I know there's a pun in there somewhere but thanks for reminding me.
Beatles, here I come. :thumb:

Uh Phil,

I think maybe it was Eisenhower's. Maybe... :nono:

That may be where the 70th napkins came from?

You actually expect me to admit that I'm 68 years old (oops, I just did) and do remember PP&M (Puff the Magic Dragon  :thumb:)?

As far as the Beatles, I was a freshman in college, on semester break, when I saw them on Ed Sullivan (this is where you kiddies say, who's that?). My first reaction to them was, "where's the horns?". You can't have R&R w/o horns can you. Obviously they proved me wrong.  :green:

At 69 I certainly remember this. I was in Denver shortly after its release and many of the tracks were in rotation at the various coffee clubs.

I have met Peter Yarrow and let me just say that he is probably a nice guy, but I certainly do not care for his music or his politics. He lives here in Minnesota (Willmar).

I'm old enough to have gotten caught up in the Folk Revival, but I never cared much for PP&M. They were just too main stream. Hell, my parents liked them. There were just too many real folk singers back in the day.

I'm old enough at 58, but I don't like it. Can't stand that hippie-dippie, flower-child, dreamy, whiney "music".
Not just PPM, but most of the similar stuff that came out of San Fran/CA for much of that time period. Yuk!

Me too on the folk revival, and am out digging up old folk LPs to this day.  Some is naive, some is timeless, but I like the stuff connected to the Irish and Scottish roots.  Lots of good Canadian folk/roots music out there even now.  Check out Tanglefoot; great harmonies, humor and storytelling.

PPM's relatively recent Holiday Concert CELEBRATION (1992) is an amazing live recording.

Coming up on 63 in a few weeks, and hearing loss be damned, still enjoying my high-end toys played LOUD.    :thumb:

At 72 I remember them well - and always liked them! Growing up near San Fransisco we had a great variety of Folk music all around us.

Cheers,

Late 60's I enjoyed PPM.  I also liked the Kingston Trio, Herb Alpert and Iron Butterfly and Steppenwolf.
