Found this from another forum. OZ base company with good price.
The precut holes are very handy for DIY.

I just saw this case on sale at DIYcable for 85.00 USD, not including front or rear panels which you can special order via panel express with cutouts, etc..

http://www.diycable.com/main/product_info.php?cPath=28_112&products_id=506

here are the specifications- I'm not sure if it is large enough (didn't I read somewhere height should be around 5"?)

#  17"x12.25"x 3.5" (WxDxH)
# 12lb. shipping weight
# Top & bottom made from 1/16" thick steel. Structurally strong enough to use with hefty transformers.
# PEM nut construction to eliminate problems with stripped threads.
# Flush mount screws and fastners provide high quality appearance.
# Textured black powder coat finish matches well with anodized aluminum panels from Front Panel Express. The powder coat finish has much more abrasion resistance than anadized aluminum finishes.
# DIYCable offers custom high quality feet and accessories.

Its high enough by far. The only hassle I can see is when you fit the heatsinks. If you fit them internally you may need to grind out the front part of the heatsink ledge to fit the torroids in, like Brownee (?) did. If I were you I would draw the layout to scale to makesure everything will fit in properly. You will also need to drill some ventholes in the lid, it doesn't seem to have any. You can get a decent finish by finding some mesh that has the holesize you want and clamp it to the lid and use it as a template.

Ken just informed that the Entry 100 case will be offered in an amplifier version in about 2 weeks. I think this is what I'm going to go with for the AKSA 100N+. I'll keep the list posted as to how it turns out.

Hi,

I'm looking at one of these two enclosures for the LF100

http://www.atiresearch-anodized.com/ATI-679M.html
or
http://www.hifi2000.it/default.asp?id=104&mnu=104

Do you supply the amp without heatsinks, as these enclosures already have them?

thanks

Well, I can post it right here for starters.

In Scandinavia, there are several sources cases. However, my preference is the Monacor (www.monacor.dk) cases, and I have been quite succesfull in using some of their 2 RU cases.

The case has number UC-262H/SW (part No. 332540). I'll get the direct link later.

Cheers,

Jens

" Many thanks to all those who are posting their metalwork contacts on this sticky;  it's priceless information.

May I ask group permission to place some of it on the website in the next week or so?  It makes the experience of building an AKSA much simpler if people take a path trodden by others before them.....

I recently had 15 cases made for the 100W AKSA.  You can see the top and [heatsink] sides here:

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=9867&start=0

These are now all painted up and look a treat.  I have sent one to Paul (Occam) in NYC, and he will take it to various metalwork shops to see if it can be inexpensively replicated in the States, the largest market at this stage.  The design is my third attempt, and appears to be finally on the mark;  strong, yet nicely made, and very clean.  Front panel is 5mm thick Aluminium, rear panel is mild steel, with all holes cut for switches, 'feet', transformers, LEDs, binding posts, IEC modules, RCA inputs.  The heatsinks comprise the sides, a la Harmon Kardon of a few years back.  It's strong enough to withstand the weight of a small car!

At this stage I have no plans for a 55W AKSA case, as the single heatsink can actually be mounted inside a professional 2U racking case without difficulty.  Suitable 2U racking case are commonly available almost everywhere at reasonable cost.  The dual heatsinks on the 100W make this approach much more difficult, however.

Cheers,

Hugh "

Yes, '74,

No question, this case was in fact designed to hold the AKSA 100 and the Lifeforce 100.

It has two large heatsinks, one down each side, and this makes it overkill for a 55W version which uses only a single heatsink.

Hope this is helpful!

http://www.hifi2000.it/ new site now with price. Their 2U with heat sink do look ideal for AKSA power amp. http://www.modushop.biz/ecommerce/cat077_l2.php?n=1
But... the cost to freight them down under is a killer.

Sam,

One of my Queensland customers bought one of these and felt they were not very robust, FWIW.
And, just as you say, the shipping downunder is VERY high, as I've found when sending complete amps/preamps across the pond.

Thanks for your links!

Cheers,

Hugh

Hi,

Just bought a few items from http://www.diyplus.net/  A Taiwan site. Their case are slightly wider and deeper than most so will suit those who need something a bit bigger.
I got 2x EPlus80 (multi RCA) and 3 face plate and 50 PCB feet. Weight about 8.5KG and cost NTD $1620 to NZ. Apparently the post office have charge less (should be $2740) and CSW, the owner kindly refund the extra that he charged me. Which is good of him.
Stock arrived within 5 days and in good condition and he even provide cotton glove so that you will not leave finger print on the case!!
Oh yes! The PCB feet will suit those who find it daunting to drill small PCB mounting hole. Will also suit those who can't decide the best way to arrange the PCB inside a case - like me .
For those who have problem with Chinese, the face plate are sold separately. NTD$530 for the 6MM std EPlus80 when buy together with the case. $620 if only the face plate itself. Chinese word 元 = $.  CSW, do answer email in English but be aware that English is his 2nd language.
The case is a one piece aluminum cut and folder into shape with an "n" shape cover. Overall a good quality & solid aluminum case. Recommended.

Have fun...

Sam,
These cases look quite nice.
But all the Chinese characters, even on the english page, make things a little tricky to figure out.
