Thorens suspension springs
« on: 11 Jan 2015, 03:07 pm »
Hey Steve. I just got this Thorens 150 mk2 turntable with a Grace 707 arm. Now, I want to fix this up, and I was thinking of putting some of your grundgebuster washers in place of the rubber washers in the suspension springs, and a washer on the tonearm mount as well. What do you think of this?
Cheers, Doug

Grungebuster washers will surely do better than the rubber washers. Grungebuster washers, Dots, and sheet material do very well with virtually all turntable parameters.

We have lots of customers who have replaced Thorens suspension springs altogether with Big Tall Tenderfoot isolation feet. Customers have also replaced Sorbothane "upgrade" suspension springs with Big Tall Tenderfeet for improved results, as well as suspension springs in AR, VPI, and other turntables.

The springs are removed and Big Tall Tenderfeet used, free-standing, in their place.
