John Hassell
Fascinoma

Giving this another listen.  It was one of the first SACDs I bought ~12 years ago and I just couldn't appreciate it.  I'm liking it better tonight, but still won't make it into my Top 10 (or 100).

Brother Jack McDuff:      Bringin' It Home     '99

Starchild, if you like Steve Gadd you might want to check out the group   Stuff  . Gadd, Richard Tee, Eric Gale, and some other top studio musicians formed the group & put out a few albums years back. Smooth & funky.

Thanks Arthur.  I'll be on the look out for them.  The samples at Amazon sound pretty good.  I didn't know Eric Gale was still alive.  I have been spending an inordinate amount of time (and money) at the Pono site lately.  If you look hard enough, you can find some good deals on 44/16 flac albums at $6.39 a pop.  I've been looking for this Bola Sete album for years.

A 'modern' classic imho, and still one of his best.   :thumb:

SC -Sadly Eric died in '94, at the young age of 55. Richard Tee passed  the year before at age 50. I first saw them on the original SNL long ago. I'll have to check out Pono, thanks for the tip.  :thumb:

Couldn't agree more AD, a modern classic right down to the cover art. The original group made a lot of great music. Surprisingly I never saw Pat in concert.
