Need help getting a second subwoofer..
« on: 18 Feb 2018, 07:07 pm »
Hi folks

I have a single subwoofer integrated with my Mini T's. The sub is connected directly to my 4BSST2. It truly adds another dimension to the sound. Once a disbeliever in subs, I am now fully converted.

I love it so much, I am looking to add another sub - to make a stereo pair.

I have the opportunity to purchase another sub, but it has more power and larger woofers than my existing sub.

I have limited experience (none!) setting up dual subwoofers.

Looking for some advice. Would it be difficult to balance two subs of different sizes?
Or..maybe it's not too difficult to control the volume of each sub, so the outputs are matched, or in sync?

Or maybe I should throw in the towel on this - and pursue matching subs?

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers, TJ

Second sub is a great idea - helps a lot at reducing the standing wave issues in all rooms. :thumb:

No should be OK - usually you want matched subs but 2 is better than one even if they are of different sizes.

I will see if I can find the measurements we did with 3 of the Bryston subs in the same room and how well it evened out the low frequencies dips and peaks in the demo room.
