Dr. David W. Robinson from PFO twisted our arms, and thanks to his encouragement and help, Yarlung just released our first high resolution DSD albums, generously sponsored by exaSound.com.*

The exaSound Quartet (http://goo.gl/xUvyGU) includes:

Sophisticated Lady Jazz Quartet** http://goo.gl/Ek4lhl
(here is Bill Milkowski’s review in The Absolute Sound http://goo.gl/BkHszp)

Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 conducted by Gerard Schwarz http://goo.gl/6x0Odw
(here is Jim Svejda’s review for Fanfare and KUSC-FM http://goo.gl/tpq1ap)

Suryodaya*** with Badal Roy on tabla and Robert Gupta playing the Nathan Milstein strad http://goo.gl/60ISaV

and our latest percussion album Smoke & Mirrors: Vanish.**** http://goo.gl/BE9ZZw You won’t be able to sit still!

Please let me know what you think. NativeDSD has discounted all four albums for this introductory weekend. These recordings are all available at YarlungRecords.com (yarlungrecords.com) in other formats.

Free DSD downloads are here: goo.gl/UCqi1b (Yarlung's track are numbers 9 and 10).

Thanks!

* George Klissarov is the superb engineer behind exaSound. George’s e22 (stereo) and e28 (surround sound) DACs exaSound.com play MP3s, CD audio, high resolution PCM downloads, and DSD all the way up to 256fs (or “Quad DSD” as David Robinson calls it) without breaking a sweat.  In secret, George is an analog music guy, which may be why his DAC is so musical.  Our first four DSD releases come from analog tape, part of the SonoruS Series (http://goo.gl/A8FkjD) of analog tapes underwritten by Arian Jansen.  We couldn’t do much at Yarlung without support from titans like George, Arian and David.  Thank you!

Join us in making more of these recordings available.  Here is Jeff Wilson’s discussion with Yarlung in The Absolute Sound. (http://goo.gl/f6cu7u)

** Recorded in the Brain and Creativity Institute’s Cammilleri Hall at USC (http://goo.gl/gGfel8), built by Antonio Damasio and designed by Yasuhisa Toyota who also designed Walt Disney Concert Hall and Radio Symphony Hall Helsinki.

*** Robert Gupta plays the Nathan Millstein Strad with his cousin Badal Roy on tabla, recorded in Walt Disney Concert Hall.  Jazz fans will remember Badal Roy from his legendary recordings with Miles Davis and Ornette Coleman.

**** "Vanish is the engaging and highly innovative follow-up to Yarlung’s original and equally compelling Smoke & Mirrors release, presenting a wide tapestry of rhythms and harmonics skillfully arrayed across a broad and deep soundstage. There’s an immediacy, clarity, and transparency to this modern classical percussion recording that seemingly brings the performers to your living room." Jim Hannon, Publisher & Senior Writer, The Absolute Sound, November 2013

Thanks for warm support we have received from many people writing to us privately from AudioCircle.  It is a pleasure to make these recordings available on DSD, and to support you, our avid listeners who want the "latest and greatest" format, which in this case is 256 fs (Quad DSD).  Our distributor makes all three resolutions available at

https://yarlungrecords.nativedsd.com/

NativeDSD offered an introductory 10% discount offer on the download site, which expired last Sunday.  In special appreciation for what John R has built at AudioCircle and in appreciation of your support, NativeDSD has created a special 15% discount coupon for AudioCircle members.  This runs through November 25th, and applies to your checkout page after you have selected your albums.

Please use the discount code AUDIOCIRCLE as you checkout.  Enjoy! And please let me know what you think of the tracks, either privately or on this forum.

Thanks for your terrific support.  George Klissarov from exaSound.com and I are delighted with how these new recordings are being received.  Thanks for making this happen!

Sincerely,

Bob

Hi Bob:

Thank you for all your contributions and hard work in bringing great music and great recordings to the world..in ALL formats!!!

This has been a busy wonderful month, and the exaSound quartet of albums has done well.  We are not talking thousands of listeners, but Sophisticated Lady climbed into the top 5 downloads on NativeDSD! Which makes us very proud.

In honor of this, there's a special discount for this album given by NativeDSD in their holiday newsletter.  I'd also like to recommend Robina Young's and Brad Michel's Puer natus est, from Harmonia Mundi, which is newly released in DSD as well.  All of this (as well as many other discounts) is in the newsletter: http://goo.gl/XMn787

We are grateful to George Klissarov and exaSound.com for their patronage of our inaugural DSD quartet.  Merging Technologies from Switzerland had graciously sponsored the second quartet, which is now out and available.  There are links in the newsletter (http://goo.gl/XMn787) but you can also find these albums directly through https://yarlungrecords.nativedsd.com/

Thanks for your support! And may you have a wonderful holiday and a happy New Year filled with great music.

More amazing news Bob.

Folks, let me tell you, these recordings are the real thing. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I was initially skeptical of double and quad DSD but I am a convert.
