syzygy: Where is that bridge? Interesting architecture!
Medieval bridge in Tuscany (Lucca, Italy). Impressive engineering for now, let alone the 13th Century.

Randy: Awesome Crater Lake photos. I had slides (37 yrs ago) and
could not get pics made to match that blue. I've never seen anything
in nature that intense.

Does the blue come from minerals in the water?

As I recall it is just clear and cold.  There is no stream in or out.  So what falls in the lake states in the lake.  And to be totally correct it is a collapsed volcano.

There isn't much life in the lake outside of a invasion or crayfish. The tried to stock it with fish in the early days.

It's a great place to snowshoe or ski around right about now.

Alan, that is some very blue water, I would love to go up to some of the National Parks around the north west.

I took this right before winter came in (southwest Colorado), it made a very nice metal print for my wife

PeteG: Lovely Pete... and ya' gotta love that time of day in the cool, crisp, mile-high air of Colorado. The shadows provide for some fine depth against the golden meadows. Sweet.  :thumb:

And for a entirely and completely different landscape. The old kwanzaa hut is typical "tin whistle" barn construction in the midwest. They became the cheap alternatives to real barns. Here's a classic midwestern, rural scene at sunset.

Thanks. They're really nothing more than snapshots, but the subject matter is awesome. Crater Lake's been on the bucket list for a long time, and I finally made it this summer (August). The west side of the rim road was closed due to a forest fire, but there certainly wasn't any smoke in the air that I was aware of. Just clear blue skies - and water. An amazing place.

We've had a very good season for deer hunting and harvesting at our rural land down in Southern Illinois this year.

Fresh from the farm to table... here's a French Style Rack of Deer Ribs.
