Cream "Disraeli Gears" Best Redbook CD master?
« on: 27 Aug 2014, 09:18 pm »
Thu far I've purchased the LP a loooong time ago, the original US release on CD, then the 1998 "The Cream Remasters" release. I am willing to purchase ONE LAST TIME if there is a better release in existance (for less than $50) ...

Know which is best?

1998 "The Cream Remasters"?
2-disc Deluxe Edition, one disc which is mono version perhaps?
4-disc Those Were the Days?

Any others you've heard?

Hey r-a-d,

Can't speak to the other remasters, but I do have the vinyl Duestche Grammaphone box set, and the 'Those Were The Days' CD set. I'll try to get them out & do a comparo this weekend. It's supposed to cool off starting tomorrow, with some rain coming in Fri. Been too hot to spend much time in the listening room, particularly with the tubes running. I can say I've liked the 4 disc set since I got it some years back. Keep on rockin'
