Harry Belafonte
Belafonte Sings the Blues

Not sure if this is jazz, but it sure swings.  Just got this original used LP.  It's a bit worn, but wow, what a record!

"Clifford Brown  Memorial Album" BST81526 Blue Note French release.

When, in 1956, a young Clifford Brown died in a car wreck just short of his 26th birthday, an already great and mature talent was lost.  These are takes from two session in 53, with Lou Donaldson, Gigi Gryce, Philly Joe Jones, Art Blakey, Percy Heath, Elmo Hope... remastered by the original master, Mr. RVG in 1985 and pressed in a direct metal master. I love how DMM records can make the bass snap.  Great sound, great music.  In "Cookin'" and "Hymn of the Orient" he is creating a something different from what had gone before.
