Elise just talked with the doctors,  White cells are up and should be down, he is still bleeding and Kidneys not working well.  They have an infectious disease specialist coming in today for a consultation.  Ok now for a little good news  Gary's fever is down from 103 to 101, his swelling is going down and he is stabilized.  Gary remains on full support and is still unconscious.

Now for a little business, checks to Elise need to be made out to Elise Kent, her name has not been changed officially yet.  I was wrong about Paypal as it will work, they have a Paypal credit card.  Elise is setting up a voice message for updates on the Dodd Audio line 972-276-6865.  This will be in place this evening, feel free to call the line anytime.   Elise is also going to logon to AC and thank everyone personally (I believe) in the next few days.

Gary Dodd

Elise Dionne Dodd
Wonderful news repost on Gary Dodd!! Yesterday was a big progress forward to a speedy recovery. He opened his eyes and saw me he responded to commands he was very able to shake his head yes and no squeeze my hand and refuse his nostril lubricant ( he doesn't like that much- who would) dr Dick bowman nurses therapist speciality dr's and us! We are all expecting a full recovery. Who expected him to be walking around the s
Day or even week after such a major operation ?? He had the major aortic heart valve replaced - for the second time! He had mesh repair on his big beautiful heart, he's had 2 stents put on and a bypass on one of the back arteries! Wow! For all that he is recovering slow but sure! I declare no decisions be made to stop his Life suppost while in ccu please!! As if all this isn't hard enough I feel strongly that some may be more concerned with legal rights instead of Garys well being - God is in control and Gary is not going anywhere !!! if you agree to let him live and not " be faced w difficult decisions" then please like this comment! Thank you!

We are on day 4 of post op recovery. He has been in hospital since 11/5/13 5 am when he has "v- tech" and almost checked out on us. Thanks be to god - his episode woke me and I was able to call 911 in time . Frantically the ema and firemen get him down stairs and in ambulance and off to wherever they said to go - medical center Plano- I thought good - heart hospital - close and available with best staff to care for him. Frantic as I was - the cell phone was no where to be found so I called the only number I knew Regina before I left that morning. I was w Gary while they stabilized him answering questions giving information etc until almost noon before I got to peek at him as to the ccu he would go. Once he was sedated and resting and calm and hooked up to
all those machines . I went back to the house Rhys when I found the phone and headed straight back to hospital. After about 3 whole days he came to! We had fun in ccu talking and hanging out with family until we got the room on 7 th floor. Meanwhile he was scheduled for cauterization to which they had to do twice . Once at night announce in the morning . After that they were able to see inside and followed by placing two stents in his heart. Adamant about not wearing a pace maker, the awesome staff ( with the help of
Gods helping hand - all along) they were able to get a difiblator / pacemaker donated and approved by hospital to pit it in all free of charge! What??? Yes that is true! So - before that happens the Dr decided they are able to do this major operation to which Gary never thought possible nor did parkland obviously. Y'all know what he's been through . Now let me update u on the progress post op. First day was rivers of tear from fear for his life . He lost the whole body volume of blood which led to them operating immidoatly after this operation (2hrs ) to see why. Finally the dr come out w a smile saying that they sewed up the mesh and that should do it. God is so good and i was so Relieved!!! Thank I Kelly and Jason for being there for me and Gary that night . Now...on 11/20 I was a wreak- nothing but bad rappers-'critical total support low blood pressure not getting oxygen having to keep him sedated.... Cry I did but faith I kept. Finally 11/21/13 the bleeding slowed tremendously and starting to clot but your husband is still critical they tell me straight faced. I keep the faith. 11/21/13 not much more good news. So I get a bible and I just read to him long as I can . I rubbed his feet with lotion - finally went to moms and snuggled w my puppy ( skunk stink is gone now) and got a few hrs decent sleep which I needed . Now 11/22/13 I heard the bad news but I'm focusing on the good news they also tell me: oh no white blood count up still transfusing blood now he has a fever intensifier and infectious disease dr's and called up platelets dropping still bleeding - kidney not taking all this too well . But how about he is weaning from sedation ! Responding to commands! Sweeping dropped dramatically he is getting more oxygen they are removing the heart balloon pump (11/23/13) and expect to have him off ventilator by Sunday ! And he is making slow but Stacy progress test coming back good and his will to live is so very strong . This morning I walked into dr bowman and nurse removing the machine that helps his heart !!! Cultures test results back today and let's keep the faith that miracles do happen
