OK I will tell you more bad news, these gredy IP want charge bits traffic!
They want charge for traffic from a certain number of bits per month, above that speed access would be reduced even more or the price increase...
The average speed in the country is just 3Mbits!

Maybe you can look into internet via satellite? A small dish would be enough to get awesome speeds.

Hi Anonamemouse,
that might be something I could look inot,
but will have to wait until our Internet contract is finish.
However, I might be surprise that's something available, never heard of it,
but will ask, maybe it's available.
Thanks for the info.

Can it get slower than that ?

Ping: 25ms
Download: 2.13Mbps

Yup! My buddy lives out in the bush and can only get satellite connection...
Ping:75ms
DL: 0.98Mbps
UL: 0.45Mbps
For $99 CDN/month

Currently I am at:
Ping: 15ms
DL: 120Mbps
UL:5Mbps
Also $99 CDN / month

Awaiting a new modem from my ISP so I can get 150Mbps / 25Mbps for only $80 / month...

Here is a Odd test.  Comcast (end of the line small town)

Wifi to Cell Phone Samsung S6   13ms ping  174.02 mbps Dl  13.17 mbps up   :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Old Computer with Win 10 14 ms ping 92.58 mbps Dl  12.22 mps up

Multiple tests since Guy 13 has posted this and the numbers are pretty much the same. :duh:

But I will never forget the first day of DSL and 1.3 mbps DL   That was FAST :bounce: :bounce:

I had DSL for a period back in the experimental/early days. As I recall, it was 64k.

I just happened to live a little over a mile from the main switch when the DSL first hit the area and it was cheaper and faster then the cable that would slow when it was busy.  I also recall the first 24K modem and laying the phone in the cradle so you could type talk with a friend.  That was the days before Al Gore. :thumb:

Full Range I am on a big bundle that the wife trudged to the office every two years to renegotiate.  And I think she does a sterling job.  A internet package can be had for @ $ 69.00

I have to admit I love the voice remote as the search is much faster then any thumb or tablet search.  But the price just keeps climbing, what a racket.

Various speed test sites use different methods of measurement and you are comparing apples to oranges unless you you establish a standard. Also, use a wired connection and not wireless.
Just for shits and giggles check out your own delta between http://speedof.me/ and http://www.speedtest.net/

I remember about 15 years ago when I got my first computer,
the Internet connection was on a regular phone line
(Could not talk on the phone, while browsing on the Internet)
it took 30 minutes to download three (03) low resolution pictures.
That was the not so good old days...
The infancy of the Internet, but, despite the speed of a turtle,
the Internet connected us cheaply with the whole world.
I think I saw somewhere that the country with the fastest Internet connection
is South Korea with something like 200Kbps in all the homes,  :thumb:
maybe someone can confirm that ?

Hi Larry, thanks for the links.
I am at our showroom with the Viettel (Vietnamese army owned server)
and I ran a test with the http://www.speedtest.net/
and here are the results:
Ping: 3ms
Download: 16.99Mbps
Upload: 19.95Mbps
then I did two runs with:  http://speedof.me/
and here are the results:
First test:
Latency (Ping?) 41ms
Download: 2.1Mbps
Upload: 9.43Mbps
Second test:
Latency: 34ms
Download: 18.88Mbps
Upload: 15.48Mbps
They say, test server from Hong Kong.

What do you think ?

Guy 13
I will do the same test at home-office this afternoon.
