and of course the obligatory ticket stub from that enjoyable evening. Hard to believe it was over 30 years ago. The Park West Chicago was the place to see the shows back in the day. I practically lived there.

Somewhat of a misnomer as the MJQ appears on only a few tracks. However, an interesting oddity is the final track from 1951, "I know", which has Miles Davis sitting in on piano. Perhaps the only recording of Miles on piano?

Man I loves me some Gerald Wilson, new guy!  How's about "Viva Tirado"?  Currently spinning . .

Can't read that?  Skyblue- Maria Schneider Orchestra (artistShare).  Check out "Rich's Piece" for plaintive blue.

Disc 3 of this 4-disc box from JSP - excellent audio quality (considering).
I've read a few times that this music (Louis Armstrong 1925 - 1930) is some of the best music ever recorded. I whole heartedly agree!

Disc 3 of this 3-disc box from Verve.
Great stuff, except for the few tracks with the schlocky vocals - yuck!

Kind of funny calling this next one a greatest hits album. They are some of my greatest hits, but it just don't fit. Sounds really good though.
