E.E. Minimax CD player v. Sugden Headmaster?

I currently own a Sugden Headmaster, which serves both pre-amp and headphone amp duties in my system.  I'm considering moving some things around, and getting some new equipment, allowing me to set up a headphone rig in a different room.  I imagined I'd find a new pre-amp for the main system, and a CDP to mate with the Sugden for the headphone rig.  But then I started reading all of these things about the Eastern Electric Minimax CD player, and how wonderful the headphone amp sounded.

Does anyone have any feeling for how the headphone amp in the Minimax would compare to the Sugden?

I currently own a pair of Sen. HD580s, which will probably remain my primary phones.  Initially I imagined that the minimax might have trouble driving the high impedence headphones.  BUt according to various reviews, this hasn't been much of a problem.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
