Greg's Super V's Pictures
« on: 18 Dec 2014, 08:56 pm »
Several months ago Greg ordered a Super V flat pack with painted side panels. As many of you know I suffered a major setback and ended up taking longer than expected to get a few orders done. To make it up to Greg I built them complete at no additional cost to him and here's the end result.

Ruben,

You, as usual did an amazing job, this was exactly what I was hoping for. All the detail of the Super 7 done as a Super V, your finish work is really something to behold. Can't wait to get the drivers mounted and crossovers installed.

Thanks Ruben :thumb:

Here is a picture of the crossovers I built for my new Super V's. I used a corian type material I had left over from a bathroom remodel. The back is hollowed out so I didn't have to add any wire to make the connections. I know these will be hidden but with Ruben built speakers I didn't want them to look too lame.

Nice.  How tall are they?

I don't recall how tall these are but they are taller than the Super V and shorter than the Super 7. One of the concerns was since the side wings are narrower there needed to be more surface area on the front to keep the baffle step loss close to the same as Danny's original design. I'm also adding stands to these which will be welded steel but will wait to get them before deciding exactly what they will look like.

Those cabinets, and the crossovers, both look amazing.

Seriously, if the Super-V wasn't for some reason all but kryptonite to me, I would buy the drivers and coaxes in the classifieds right now and be telling Ruben to take my money.

Greg, enjoy those when you get them together and you should be proud of your work!

Good job on the speakers, Ruben!!

They look amazing and I bet Greg is a happy camper. Hopefully mine will look just as nice in pearl white!!  :D

Do you happen to recall how tall you made them by any chance?

Cheers,

David

Greg, are you going to use the a370 amp or the HX300 amp?

Thank You Jonathon, Ruben did do an amazing job on these! I'll do my best to finish them out properly.

Good job on the speakers, Ruben!!

They look amazing and I bet Greg is a happy camper. Hopefully mine will look just as nice in white pearl!!  :D

David, I think pearl white will look fantastic and yes, I am a happy camper.

AK, I have the original amps designed for these speakers as I bought this kit well over a year and a half ago.

I just want to say that Ruben was a pleasure to work with and after going through this process with him he now feels like a friend. He is more than generous and while this took longer than expected I never had any doubt about Ruben the man or getting what I asked for.

Thank You Ruben,

Greg

I can't imagine a more elegant looking loudspeaker. That's a BMW paint job!
