Bob, with a little post work you can crisp those images right up. I hope you don't mind I did a bit to one of your photos as an example. If I had the original raw file, it could be even better.

Indeed!  :thumb:
I like the improvement you made. Post processing is one area I've never gotten into. Mostly due to lack of time (and knowledge to an extent). I've played with it a few times, but never made it part of my official portfolio.
Also, I've never shot in RAW.

I understand not wanting to deal with  post work, but if you can ever make time and have the software (I use Lightroom and/or Photoshop), I can help you out no prob. That change i made to your photo took me in the seconds, not minutes - very easy to do. RAW is not a necessity, but it is the best to use for doing post adjustments.

I always find that with digital photography there is a need to further enhance in post to get the best out of the images. But that's just my opinion.

A buddy of mine does some impressive work with some free software, but for the life of me, I can't recall the name of it. Some months after his informal tutorial, I couldn't remember most of what he told me.  As a result, I deleted the program.  :duh:

Due to some discussions here, I've been convinced to take pics in RAW and JPEG both, but I never remember to change the settings when I have the camera in hand.

Even with thousands of trip photos to sort through, tonight I just dumped some non-trip images from my phone. Thought I'd add a music related image to AC. From San Francisco's Treasure Island Music Fest. I went on Sunday and I saw Chet Faker, POLIÇA, TV on the Radio and Massive Attack. but a side stage had this interesting local act of a guy with a shovel playing some blues–Shovelman....

Hi all.
Took that picture yesterday (Sunday) from my listening room's window
on the fourth floor.
Daily construction life on planet Vietnam.
Here on planet Vietnam they do have modern construction equipment,
however, there are still plenty of cheap labor,
therefore, why not make them work,
instead of spending the whole day drinking coffee
and talking about...

Hi all.
My 60 years old dog called STAN !
60 years in dog's years.
Unfortunately for him, he's half blind with cataract and half deaf
but other than that in relatively good health.

My parents had to put her down this morning. She was a good dog, very sweet, and had a good life  - 14 1/2 years. I took this photo of her this summer while up visiting in NY state.

Hi gnuyork,
sorry about your parent's dog.
She sure look like a nice and friendly dog.
14.5 years, that a long life for a dog.

Hi FullRangeMan.
Yes, I know, it look like a heat sink, but what is the whole thing?

Looks like an ornate oriental table with a decorative center piece.
Almost looks like a napkin holder.
