Funny I was thinking the same thing this morning when listening to it.  Usually greatest hits albums suffer, but this one sounds really good.  I've had it for years, but probably only played it 3-4 times (I bought it back in the day when I would transcribe the LP onto cassette for regular listening, which makes for old records in decent shapes now that I've got a good analog rig).

I know what you mean about transcribing albums onto cassette tape. A lot of the albums I own from my college and law school days (1966-74) are in pretty rough shape -- Too many parties, using the record changer spindle on my Benjamin Miracord and generally not caring for them. But once I had a cassette deck and a cassette player in the car, I would tape every new album and then put the album away and play the cassette. I had a couple different models of Nakamichi decks and they did a great job. Thus, my albums from the mid-late 70s to the mid-late 80s are generally in great shape.

Same here Laura, Nakamichi LX-5 I believe, preceeded by the original Advent cassette deck I got for graduating high school in '75.

Had the Nak till about 2010 when I;

a- lost the left channel in it and,
b- met the P-man.

Shortly thereafter tossed the Nak, the cassettes, bought a VPI Scout, which in a months time traded in for a VPI Super Scoutmaster, haven't looked back.

John,

my snarky comment about jazz was not directed at you but at the P-man. I like to razz him about jazz because he knows how much I dislike jazz.  :lol:

Laura,

Sorry for the delayed response; I've been away a few days.

I enjoyed your comment and understand that it is all in fun. Please don't take me too seriously.  :)

            Mountain:  The Best of Mountain         Columbia/Windfall   date- ?  doesn't seem to fit any of the listed discog releases exactly.

             Figured I'd join you CB. Hope it's a nice evening around the Cacti household. Saw a 'nice' looking duststorm headed your way on the nightly news.  :o
             Cheers   :beer:

Excellent AD! Yes! That is one of my favorite "Best of" lp's for sure!

We had a couple of dust storms in the valley yesterday and to tell you the truth they are over rated. Back in Chi-Town we had thunderstorms every week that would trounce these little guys. Their fun though lol!  :thumb:
