To quote Blaise Pascal, "le cœur a ses raisons que la raison ne connaît pas" -- "the heart has its reasons, of which reason knows nothing."  When I put my money on the table, I buy with my heart.  8)

Did you buy with your heart and buy the ultrasonic vinyl cleaner?   :P

I piddled around until 4 PM Sunday, went down and made an offer they couldn't refuse.  Closing time is buyer's market.

I managed to fit the box in my suitcase (free shipping). :green:

So far, so good.  I bought a copy of this Mahalia Jackson record on e-bay a few years ago.  It was supposed to be VG+ but it has lots of pops and ticks even after cleaning with an RPM.  I took it out and played it.  I cleaned it on my VPI Typhoon and listened to it.  Then I cleaned it on Audio Desk and listened again.  Noticeable reduction in ticks and pops.  It's not magic.  The record has to be in good shape underneath the grime, but it seems to get rid of grime the best.

I am going to do another test where I am going to go with Audio Desk first and VPI after and see if I hear a difference one way or another.

BTW,  do not overfill the tank.  :duh:

Tom,
I 100% agree with you that folks really should strive to hear this stuff for themselves. I continue to be amazed at how few people (<1%) at these shows bring their own music, or are capable of requesting a tune!

I bought an IsoMike SACD and it was $20, and they gave away a sampler with it at the show!
Is it 2 ch, or...?

cheers,

AJ
