Interesting album.  I haven't listened to all of it yet, and the AllMusic review linked below is less than glowing, but the few tracks that have come up in my "Sunday Morning Chanteuse" playlist have been great in a lounge-lizard sorta way.  Anyway, give the samples a listen and let me know what you think.

Playing oner more and then I'm moving on.  Sonny Rollins fits in so well with them.

^^ Nice P-Man, "Perspective" is probably Byrd's finest. Looks like an early pressing.

This disk really chills me out.  I keep gravitating back to it.  Well, like they say, "Don't fight the feeling."  BTW, I'm going to be on a business trip for most of the week so I won't be posting anymore tunes until Thursday evening at the earliest.  I hope everyone has a great week.  Happy listening!!
Mike

Very interesting JD.  I had not seen that one before.  It has the feel of Miles Davis fusion to it.

Mike

That was a comment of one of the reviewers, and can't imagine that Bitches Brew released a year before didn't have some affect on Donald's thought process. Though I find Donald's approach more melodic, less free form than Miles, yet still with that spacey/psychedelic edge. Not sure how I came across it now, my only Byrd on vinyl, have had it since early '70s, one of the LPs I had to hang onto. Was delighted when the CD was finally released, making it a more easily archived/reproduceable work. Nice to be able to listen to the whole thing without interruption (ie flipping the record).

Have a safe, & productive trip. Catch ya later..........
