I liked Ken Hamm's slide guitar work a lot when I heard him live on CBC's "Saturday Night Blues" with Holger Peterson a few months ago. He lives in the middle of nowhere in southern Saskatchewan (find "Forget SK" on Google Maps to see).
Here's an indicator of what I heard, but it isn't as striking as what he was doing live on the radio:
