SOLD! WTS: Assembled Dodd Buffer Kit with Sonicap Platinum caps

I just recently purchased this from someone on this forum, but some home repairs in the last week are forcing me to sell.


Up for sale is a Dodd Buffer kit with Platinum cap upgrade.  In a nice all metal enclosure, battery/charger obviously not included.  12ax7 tube included.

Is this the same chassis minus the faceplate that you get if you buy the pre-made version from Dodd? 

Also, does anyone know hard it is to install the remote control option?

The chassis is a DIY chassis http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/6424
The remote unit is easy to install.
Any help you need just drop a note. :wink:

I have two questions:
1.  Can you use the nice Dodd wooden face plate on this chassis?
2.  Will this unit take the 6h30 tube or is that a special mod?

No, this chassis has a difference size of the Dodd buffer.
Yes, this buffer is 6H30 ready.
But, Randall Kepley who is a member here on A.C can put it in a nice wooden box.

did you get the one from this offer or another unit?
Haven´t got an answer to my PM to cujobob  yet.....
I was looking for an autoformer pre but the Dodd buffer seems to be very insteresting,too(especially at the dollar/euro exchange rate at the moment) :D.

No I got another fully built unit as I prefer to listen, rather than hurt myself :D.   I was always good at detroying electronics, and not so good at the building process, however I should add that I am sure Gary and Trung could easily walk you through the build process very easily. 

And btw, this sounds awesome right out of the box.
