LGK 1.0 crossover
« on: 26 Nov 2016, 01:03 am »
So I am building a listening room on the cheap. I have my hands on some Ashly FTX2001 with the built in active crossovers, so my question is where do these guys drop off? I only seem to be able to find charts hitting 200hz.

Although I saw some crazy looking Z open baffle sub here (Maybe a little more info), I have not settled on a sub yet but have some other designs in mind and was think 80hz, but thought that may be low. I believe it is a 24db slope built in. I will not be listening at very high volume.

The LGK 1.0 will hit a -3db of 80Hz in the box that I designed for them.

Thanks. Perfect..your box/kit is the plan. Any thoughts of max volts.

What was that Z shaped dual driver sub? I thought it was your design.

If you are asking about how much power you can hit them with then it really depends on how much you limit the bottom end. If you play them full range then they will only handle about 20 to 30 watt peaks to reach their X-max. But if you filter the lows away then you can play them pretty hard.

We don't do any wacky subs. We have servo controlled subs for open baffle and sealed boxes.

Yup...crossed at 80 so they can handle some power. Cool.

The sub I saw was the W sub in the oppo thread. I overlooked the edge.

Editted to fix phone auto correct.

We have customers building our dual servo subs in a W frame.
