This dac is a NOS dac which is very musical -analog sounding- As you can see it is very small and housed in a ceramic enclosure, hence the Shigaraki name as these types of ceramics are called in Japan. The dac supposedly has only 14 parts in its circuit which is in part responsible for its sonic signature. The Dumpty power supply consists of a very big transformer housed in an aluminum cylinder. This power supply was designed for their Progression an Gemini dacs but makes the Shigaraki sound to be very close to the other two in quality. The stock power supply has a smaller transformer housed in a ceramic housing. Price for the Dumpty alone is $900 and for both the dac and Dumpty $1400.
