Very sorry to hear about this, Laundrew, and especially the impact on you and Lady Laundrew. Debatably, we seem to be in a second age of the Robber Barons, with more tightly consolidated business interests trumping social and quality of life issues. Clearly, there are complex and controversial issues affecting such matters, but there are companies that seem to be doing just fine by honoring local craftsmanship.

Thanks Rich, it is the working couples that were both employed in this plant that my heart goes out to. It would seem that gone are the days when an individual could find a decent paying job in manufacturing with only high school and you can really notice how the middle class is being decimated in Ontario by this. I honestly do not know what is in store for our younger generation, they are going to be worse off than their parents - speaking with an individual today who was telling me that they are having trouble keeping on top of their hydro bills.

One of the benefits of not getting out much and staying mostly in a dark basement is that you don't burn that much electricity - that is, until you turn the beasties on  :duh:

I'm Vertical Bi-amping My 4Bsst2's They are Stereo Amplifiers
Not Mono Amplifiers.....
I’m balanced out from Bp26
1 4bsst2 to left channel  bi wired
1 4bsst2 to the right channel bi wired

Sound presentation is the difference. Clean and split as the recording studio’s meant them to be listened to.

Did you use a splitter

I bi amp my 3bsst and bp-25mc

The pre only has one balanced out,,,,

and

Two single ended out

I am using 6 ft balanced Y cables  also tried them both ways and found that balanced worked for me

also tried them bridged into 10 ohm speakers which the amps see 5 ohms,,,did not like so much

I do not use a splitter
Here are some pointers that I found on the Net.

Bi-wiring can improve clarity and openness, with less grain and more solidity
to the bass. Two cables are required for each speaker that you bi-wire.
Bi-amp
Passive bi-amping offers a dramatic improvement in clarity, openness and
detail, with much better bass solidity and definition. The presentation of music
and movie soundtracks is simply more intelligible and transparent.
With passive bi-amping, the speaker’s internal passive crossovers remain
connected. An external electronic crossover is not required and cannot be
used (there is no direct electrical access to individual drive units). This saves
expense and setup difficulties. Passive bi-amping optimizes your speaker to
achieve the best possible high-end performance. To bi-amplify, two power
amplifiers are required. Connection can be either vertical or horizontal.
IMPORTANT! When bi-amping, always use amplifiers with identical gain.
If uniform amplifier gain is not maintained the speaker-to-speaker balance
will be incorrect when vertically bi-amped, or the speaker system’s frequency
balance will be incorrect when horizontally bi-amped. To prevent problems
use identical amplifiers (Brand and Model) and in identical operating modes
(single channel or bridged).
Vertical Bi-amplification dedicates one amplifier to each speaker. This
configuration provides complete channel separation, which optimizes your
system’s imaging ability. Connect your speakers to one amplifier at a time.
Horizontal Bi-amplification dedicates one amplifier to your speakers’ mid/
low-frequency inputs and another to their high-frequency inputs. This configuration
can maintain better clarity when listening at loud levels—if lowfrequency
demands cause amplifier clipping, distortion will still be kept away
from high-frequency drivers.

Hi James what do you think about Robert D's bi amping his speakers? Since you have a lot of experience on that. I have a 4bsst2 thinking of doing the same.

I have a bp26 and a 4bsst2 how do you connect the pre to the 2 amps? And then the amps to the speakers?

Will you use balanced or single ended

If balanced you will need a splitter (Y cable )

If single ended than there is enough outputs to do the job

Use one amp for 1 speaker bi wire (vertical bi amp )

Use 1 amp to power the tweeter of both speakers same with woofer ( horizontal bi amp )
