Right now the idsd is burning...running with samples of dsd and flac files...fed to Preamp with vol preety much mute....

any suggested way to burn the DAC???

I actually read that as a compliment, as in "be on the lookout" for these devices.

As an aside, I just received an iFi Purifier today and am running it right now with a Nuforce DDA-100.  Meaningful positive improvement at first blush.

What are the major differences between this DAC and the iDAC? Seems to be iDAC is based on the ESS sabre chipset and does not do DSD and the one in the thread is based on Burr Brown and DSD. Is that right and are there other major differences?

Not much...i had some issue and was unable to stream DSD file from Puppy linux i have...and havent got the time yet to put voyage or something on the system.

SO far what i can tell;

Pros:

for PCM it can easily do 24/192......tested and verfied.
Can do DSD , i connected that with My laptop and was able to get DSD working.

Now lets come to sound.

I have a Lampi 1.0 i bought from someone for 70$.....it can only do uptil 24/96.

IMHO it sounds much better to my ear then this i cant pinpoint why but it does.

I am still keeping my opinion to me so that it can run for 200 hours and plan to do some serious listening this weekend and then put some reviews out.

SO far it is nothing Amazing...it can do lot of things but i havent got a smile yet....

So far this is the keeper.....using Jriver and idsd for Hd650 the music is good...i can live with it....

yesterday  i had a fellow audiophile stop by at my house , as he agreed RCA output from this was nothing that i wanted...but again i am having a BIG A-D then D-A conversion using DEQX so your result may vary...

so i am keeping this for my headphone system....
