When I closed the doors at ACI we were developing a set of tower speakers featuring a custom 250 watt amp (modified Force XL amps)
in each speaker to power integrated twin 7” subs. The mid-upper end are essentially Emerald XL with some crossover adjustments to integrate with the powered subs. Having the powered bass section allows for great adjustability of the bass quantity and quality in any listening room. It also allows the audiophile to select the kind of power he or she wants specifically for the midrange and upper frequencies. For example, some tube amps are perfectly suited to this task with the high quality discrete AB power amps taking care of the bass. These speakers are one of a kind and are a gorgeous cherry real wood veneer and just exude high quality. They are for a discriminating audiophile who knows real, handcrafted quality. These were going to be sold at approx. $3K retail. I am asking only $900OBO for the pair as they cannot be shipped. Price includes a complete, “extra” power amp.
