Those are fantastic shots.  Those of us outside the prime zone just made do with what we had.  Wife and I dug around our old photos and slides until we found some black negatives. A little tape, and old pair of sunglasses, and we were good to go.
The eclipse was cool, but finding a long lost picture of me and my dad was even better.   :thumb:

Yes very well done Bob.

Hope Bside123 was in town to capture this, it went right through his back yard.

Was only able to see about 85% from my place in Ohio and with packers (not the Green Bay kind either) moving all about my house, I wasn't able to prepare for shooting any pictures.

Thanks for all the solar eclipse pics. Very nice, and great captures. Very impressive, and thanks so much for taking them.

Yes, I was in Carbondale, IL in the "path of totality." Don't ya' just love the phrase... "the path of totality."
Our organization hosted a "Family Fun Zone" which was a midway for families and kids. You know... rides, music, food, crafts, education booths, etc.
Thousands of people came through. Between our restaurant, grocery store and the midway, we're all pretty much fried... or poached by this morning. It was hot and humid,
but great people, guests and great stories. Business was hopping, we served thousands of people over 3 days. Our feets are sore, and we are tired.

The event itself was absolutely spectacular. It was accented by so many people coming to Southern Illinois. Everyone was so nice, friendly and overall well behaved. Really!
Perhaps, the celestial nature of the event brought a calming connection to this little sea of humanity here.

Oddly enough, I did NOT take a single photo of the eclipse!!! I figured others, including the NASA crew of scientists which came to town, would get plenty. I wasn't studied
or prepared properly to get good pics, so I pointed my camera at some of the festivities and tourist guests. By the time it came to the eclipse... I sat back and "chilled" with my solar glasses on  8)

This was are "dress rehearsal" for another total eclipse that will pass directly over us in 7 years. Perhaps, we'll see some of you in Southern Illinois at that time!

I didn't take this (plainly obvious to those that know me) but I wanted to share it here, but didn't feel it needed its own thread;

I just returned from another 3 weeks in Bangladesh. As far as photography goes, this time I mostly captured people, portraits and candids. There's more where these came from, if y'all are interested. Thanks for looking!  :thumb:
