Title: Matching Speakers for G3s
Post by: btetley on 19 Feb 2012, 08:58 am
I have two pairs of G3s in excellent shape vintage 1993.  I would like to create two multichannel systems utlizing the G3s as front channel anchors in two different rooms, one exclusively for music, one predominantly for movies.  Please provide any suggestions as to good matching subwoofer and center and rear channel speakers.  I would like to use all ACI if possible and recommended as voice matching, but any experience with other brands (with reasonable prices secondhand) would also be appreciated.  Thanks for any suggestions.

Any of the ACI centers would work well, as would any of the smaller speaker models that could be used as surrounds. As far as subs, that really depends on room size and how loud you want it to be able to go. The G3s have pretty stout 10" woofers that do well into the mid 30s on their own, so probably a single Titan would be a starting point. If you can find one or two, you cannot go wrong with the Maestro:)

Thank you for your recommendations Mr. Dzurko.  Now to keep my eye on the FS postings!  I have had a lot of years of enjoyment out of the G3s, and I look forward to exploring the multi-channel sound experience...
