My new GR Research V1 set-up !
« on: 30 Dec 2012, 12:05 pm »
Hi all Audio Circle members.

Since I had some free time during the Christmas holidays,
that’s one day on the 25th in the mostly Buddhist Vietnam.
I’ve decided to make some changes to my audio set up.

First thing I did was to move my GR Research V1 speakers
from the narrow wall to the large wall of my listening room.
I kept 3 feet behind the speakers.
Original set-up.

New set-up.

I’ve also added spikes.

(I think) I’ve heard an improvement in the bass as well as in the mids and highs.
The left speakers seems to have a little better bass (Deeper and heavier) and I think it’s because it is near the corner of the listening room.

Now that my speakers are on spikes, much more difficult to move them around, that’s my since their birth, my V1 where on training wheel.

I did try to lift up my speakers, but could not hear any improvements; as usual it does not mean that there was no improvement.

Well that’s it.

Just wanted to share my findings with the Junior Audio Circle members that want to learn something, if there is something to be learned.
