LS100 volume control problem
« on: 11 Dec 2014, 05:45 pm »
Hello,
I'd enjoyed using my LS100 for about 2.5 years w/o problems and recently the volume control started to have a strange issue. I can turn up the volume by pressing (+) button on the remote control, but when I press the (-) button, the volume nob doesn't go down; instead, there's a moderate pop noise coming out from the speakers and the logo light in the middle of the preamp flashing. At first, when I noticed that about 1.5-2 months ago, it happened after about 30-45 mins of using it. Now it happens as soon as it's done warming up.  Also, before it had the issue, when I turned on the preamp, if the volume nob was not at 0 position it would turn down by itself to 0. Now it doesn't do that. Other than the volume issue, it's still working fine.

Has anyone experienced the same problem with his LS100 and if it's easy enough to fix w/o having to send it back to ModWright? (Like the issue with the preamp unmuting too soon I had before,  Dan W. just sent me a chip to replace)
Thanks,
Dan
