Has anyone tried any of the Edifier near-field powered speakers? Another product I saw on Amazon that has excellent Amazon reviews. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s?k=edifier But I'm curious of the more critical opinions of some AC'ers.

I've never heard any Edifier speakers, so I would just be speculating, but I can't bring my self to spring (pun intended) for any component with spring-type speaker posts and also question a 13mm silk dome tweeter, something I've never seen (both on the $100 model).

I would personally pony up an extra $75 or $100 for something a lot nicer.  If you can wait a few months (4), I would look at making your dollars go really far and getting these Peachtree M4.  Versatile as a Swiss Army knife, compact enough for the kitchen, and Peachtree Audio has a proven track record with Decco and Nova electronics and Peachtree/Era speakers.
