Rob, RMAF isn't till Sept. 30th.

I will be out there and I am sure I will be spending a good amount of time in his room.

Hi George   I hope to see you there.  But I'll be spending most of my time checking out the competition.

Wish I could go, but work makes it impossible right now.  But I'm very anxious for news.  The new model that's supposed to be unveiled sounds pretty interesting to me.

Yes, the EXT will be finished in the next couple of days.  Dennis already finished his marvelous crossover work and informs me when I get the first pair built, I will be very pleased with the results.

The cabinets are built and the crossovers are already wired and installed.  I should be able to finish veneering the first pair tomorrow and then it will take a vew days to shoot some lacquer.

So, barring any last-mintue hitches, I will be listening this weekend and then packing them up for RMAF.

I'll post some pics and details when finished.

Rob -

I couldn't help notice you are a Vikings fan.  I have followed them for years, even prior to the days of Bud Grant.  I actually got Direct TV many years ago so I wouldn't miss a game.

But the first two games this year were tough to watch.  I hope they get their act together soon so I don't have to adopt another team!

At least the Vikes finally got a win today! :)   I was almost afraid that the Fudge Packers would scrounge up a win first. :P

I hope so!  Here's to backing into the playoffs one more time!

BTW, can't we get some little teaser on the new EXTs?  The suspense is getting to me.

Rob -

Just pulled into Denver and am finishing setting up the room.  I've got a pair of EXT's here with me.

I'm too tired to post info now, but here's a link to a pic to keep you occupied for now.

Wow! :o   They're beautiful!  The price on them is really just $2500 per pair?

Agree, beautiful speakers.  Then again, would we expect anything less from Jim!  Does anybody know what drivers are being used?

Jim(or those who heard it this weekend),
When you get a chance, as I know you are extremely busy with the show, how would you compare the EXT to the QW and HT3?

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Jeff

Just in case you didn't see it, Jim compares the EXT to the HT3 toward the end of his first post of this thread.

I heard them briefly this Am and thought they sounded superb.  Very nice bass and smooth smooth smooth.

I heard the EXT this afternoon and they are very dynamic and punchy.  They have a warmer and rounder presentation than the HT3's.

My guess is that these are perfect speakers for somebody who doesn't want all the honesty, detail, and performance of the HT3's, but wants to have the family sound.

Great job Jim!

George
