Modwright's Sound Signature
« on: 15 Jan 2015, 03:35 am »
I own Modwright gear and I love it, but as I haven't tried much else.

What is Modwright's sound signature?

Just as Conrad Johnson gear has a reputation of being golden and tubey, what is an accurate description of Modwright's sound quality?

I would call it a great balance between solid state and tube. Has attack and speeed of ss but not etched. Not rolled off but soft enough to be delicate and detailed. The low end is not as good as my aragon. But then again I have neveer heard an amp with bass that beats the aragon. I will be looking in their preamps. Not sure if it is better than what i  have now (Audio research sp8)
