180g double album reissue from the original analog tapes.  :D

The reissue sounds amazing, much better than my original blue vinyl copy. Though it lacks the cool factor

I had a great haul yesterday including a real big fish.

I found the following records at an antique mall and they were all in excellent condition. I paid a total of 7$ for them. I already have copies of all but death of a ladies man but just couldn't pass them up.

Leonard Cohen - songs from a room
                       - songs of Leonard Cohen
                       - death of a ladies man
Joni Mitchell - blue

I also found a near mint copy of Alice in chains self titled three legged dog record from newly opened wax records in vero beach Florida. I've been dying to get my hands on that record for a long time but just couldn't bring myself to pay the jacked up Internet prices. Though it still cost a pretty penny I'd say I got very fair price. I highly recommend checking out wax records if you are in the area. The owner was great to talk to and they had a great selection (mostly rock music).

If it's Saturday, it must be Catch Of The Day Pic day.  Nice stuff, Joegator81.  Here's my one buy of the week.  Now I'm not saying I'm a big Carter Family fan, but I wasn't dumb enough to pass this buck buy by (say that three times fast.) Too bad it wasn't the mono.

Keep On The Sunny Side - The Carter Family With Special Guest Johnny Cash.

Boulders is classic. If you are unfamiliar, you are in for a treat. Roy Wood did this solo album while he was still with The Move, it got released after The Move broke up...basically (but not exactly) Roy Wood to head Wizzard and Jeff Lynne to head ELO. Except for the weird harmonium at the beginning of Songs of Praise, he played and sang the whole thing. It's great.

Paul.

Sorry I just noticed you'd replied to that posting of mine.  Like a lot of my buys, I just had a sense that it's something I should pick up.  Buying Boulders prompted me to do some research, which included some interviews with Roy Wood.  Yes, it's a most interesting recording, for sure.

Thanks! i'm still buzzing from the Alice in Chains get.

Can't say I've listened to much Carter family but i'm a big Johnny Cash fan so that would definitely be a good pick up in my book.

Seemed like I was destined to pick it up.  A day or two before I caught just part of the movie "I Walk The Line.  The part I caught had to do with the time in his life when he first started working with June.  I don't know a great deal about his life story, but if the movie's true to it, clearly the Carter family had a lot to do with him managing to straighten himself out.

I don't know all the details either but he had his demons and it sure seems the carters helped. Also, Maybelle Carter was a pretty good guitar picker I believe

This is an early Bob Seger album recorded in 1972 which was before he put together the Silver Bullet Band and his first hit album, "Night Moves".

I totally agree. A reference recording if ever there was one.
