Hey Devil Doc - Thanks for posting that Samantha Fish CD  :thumb: .
She was off my radar. Samples from her other releases sound good too.

That's why I like this thread. None of us have heard of every Blues musician and this is a good way to share our finds.

Recorded live at the Cafe Au Go-Go in 1966, and at Soledad Prison in 1972.
Terrific live cuts!

"Girls With Guitars" is pretty good too  as is "Ladis Sing the Blues" when she teams up with Joanne Shaw Taylor.

Well said DD  :thumb:

Not a great review on Allmusic but personally I love the mix of the "unexceptional" piano, rythem guitar  and his  guitar playing, the "low-key" vocals doesn't bother me.  I quite like this one

I find I rarely agree with allmusic's reviews/analysis, but that's just me. I like it too.  8)

Definitly not  always accurtate for me either but then music is a very subjective thing so I guess  one shouldn't expect any different.

I didn't actually  discover Hubert Sumlin until not that long ago,  I like everything I've heard prety much.  There is  just something about his guitar playing  that  just grabs me.  I've watched a  few little videos on Youtube of him   giving  interviews,  he was quite the character as well   :D

Haven't checked Mr. Sumlin out yet, do remember seeing you, Doc, or r-a-d having posted some of his work earlier. Limited funds for outlay at the moment. Just found a storage bin of LPs in my garage this week, increases my library by probably 30%, so am working thru those at the moment. Some real finds, things I didn't replace with CDs, and others that are simply classics imo.  :thumb:
