Picture Of The Day

jjdog2: Great capture on the Hummingbird Moth. Your's is a beauty too!

Here's a couple that were vibrating around the flowers of our garden. They are really hard to photograph as they move very quickly, are smaller than a Hummingbird, tend to stay closer to the vegetation, and they vibrate like crazy. On this particular day, I only had a 50mm Macro. I got as close as I could and then cropped the photo.

Weird little creature, and they do kinda look like a Crawdad (IL).

Nice job on the captures and I think that is a Snowberry Clearwing Moth.

Hi all.
Usually, the green bags contain ice cubes or ice blocks,
but it can be money (Believe it or not) or anything.

Have you noticed that the rear tire is almost flat,
that because of the little Sumo.

Duck and chicken get a free ride to their death...

Is life that bad on planet Vietnam that you want to jump from the forth floor
to end you miseries or your 5 USD a day salary?

...and yes, he's waring a woman's hat
and it's quite common for poor people coming from the country side.

Did you see his face? He did liked to get his picture taken.
He sell corn on cob and I never buy them, because they are mushy
and not crispy.

It's a big pussy cat you have there.
What's his name?
How much does he weigh ?
What he's doing ? Watching for mices.
If he's bored you can send him to me,
we can sure use a cat here, because on planet Vietnam
they will never run out of mices
and rats are as big as you cat.

Hi all.
What happen when a 40 tons truck get hit by a 100 tons locomotive?
Have a look at the picture and you will know.
The driver dies, his passenger get ejected from the window
and get hurt badly
and all the train passengers,
hardly noticed that we just hit a 40 tons truck.
It happens to my wife and me 20 years ago on our way to Hanoi.
It took 36 hours to do Saigon - Hanoi,
the same trip by airplane takes only one hour,
but at that time the train maximum speed was about 50 mph.

Hi all.
I wonder what those four guys are doing ?

Believe me or not...
That BIG snake was in the back yard of my Vietnamese ex-wife apartment
in a suburb of Saigon
and I was sleeping with my window open just beside it.
The neighbor did not wanted to kill him with a knife,
so he electrocuted it, well he put it unconscious with 230V.
Thinking that it could have entered in the bedroom and... Brrrr...
It gives me goosebumps...

Hi all.
This Vietnamese man at first was getting around in a (Standard) wheel chair
and some one, stole his wheelchair, can you image that,
stealing a wheelchair from someone who has no legs
or should I say: Half legs.
Then a generous person (Not me) gave him this three wheeler.
He was at my showroom doorstep every day
and each time I bought from him a few lottery tickets
and we make jokes,
I even wrote on his sandals the left and right thing,
he found that very funny.
I did not see him for about two months and sadly,
learned that he got hit by a truck and died.
