Culinary picture of the day

Ok... let's see if this takes off.
Might be a bit of a stretch to ask audiophiles to take photographs of food.
That's a niche, in a niche, in a niche, but I think it would be fun.

To start.... A device I have not seen, touched, or used in forty years, but my childhood came calling so I had to buy one.
And a dual unit at that. Looking forward to using it.

Always loved the pie iron!
Something about Apples and campfire pies..
Don't be ashamed.. Celebrate the campfire pie!
I use mine several times a year.

Nice!  :thumb:
Any special recipes you'd be willing to share?
Good to see others using the venerable pie iron in this day and age!

Getting ready for the big week ahead.  Pork in all its glory.  Bacon wrapped ground pork seasoned and seared with a slow smoke.
And I don't have the real picture talent.

That's a bacon wrapped fattie!   :thumb:
Nice! One of the favorites in my house. I'll do several at a time and freeze them.
Thaw, and reheat with an egg on a biscuit and you've got yourself a fattie sandwich. Yum.

Okay, this is my Mediterranean Cod Fillets dish.

Lightly seasoned with Gordo's Mediterranean spice, (which I believe it no longer makes, but I stocked up. It's a mixture of garlic, onion, salt, sugar, un-named spices) and Oregano. Then I smother it with butter and a light topping of Old Fashion style Dijon mustard.

It went down pretty fast.

I'll be posting this weekend. I just pulled out the Smokey Mountain, now I need to decide what's going in it.

My new toy is a Joule sous vide, and thats a fillet cooked med. rare then seared in a smoking hot cast iron skillet. The fillet was then covered with a smattering of onions and baby 'bellas prepped in butter, of course!

So living here is Oregon it is Berry season.   And one of my favorite is the Marion Berry. A hybrid of a couple different Black Berries.  And so I will be making a cobbler a day.

Store bought cake and jelly beans would surely get ya' Jelly Belly for real. When I saw this at a small town family reunion, I couldn't resist the set-up!

Hey Alan...sorry, I just noticed your question. I have a 9 and 7 year old, and we go through band-aids like 7 and 9 year olds do. I also go through Kool-aid like I have a 7 and 9 year old. The white box is a bulk Band-aid container which happens to be the same width as Kool-aid packets. So I crossed out "Band" with a Sharpie and scribbled "Kool" above it and filled it with the powdered packets of summer joy!

Cheat day:
- Big fat burger ("Yes", there's a bottom bun under that patty)
- Two slices of Asiago
- Two grilled Italian herbed potato wedges
- Layer of Ground Beef Chorizo
- Four Slices of BBQ grilled bacon
- Garden fresh tomato slice, onion, and mayo.
On the side, "MOINK" balls, wrapped in bacon. Some were beef Chorizo MOINK balls. Some grilled potato hunks, wrapped in bacon.
