Magnepan sent replacements which arrived in 8 days from the call to replace the originals.
The serial number of the new ones is 2 units higher.
(for those keeping score of how many they make per week?)

The guys from the dealer carried in the new 20.7s.
Set them up. then carted out the original ones.
So starting all over on break in.
(At least I know what to expect on break in..)
The new ones have way more figuring in the grain of the oak panels than the first pair did. (and both tweeters working right out of the box)

The biggest downside are the apartment building tenants seeing them hauling out the originals. Naturally, old codgers ask endless questions: "Who is moving out?" "What are those?"
So now the have something to gossip about for a week at least.
(I had to stay with the guys carrying them out so some old fart would not start yelling at them: "Who are you?" Why are you in here?" "Why are using/holding the elevator?" "I'm calling the Police".
The joys of 'Over 55' apartment buildings!)

That's awesome!  And you got a minor upgrade with the nicer trim panels.

LOL, Elizabeth!  I just moved into a 55+ MFH park and there is no shortage of nosy, chatty neighbors.

Fabulous, enjoy. ( It's nice to know I'm not the only older person without tech skills).
May have missed this in a prior post but what size room are you using these in.

The room extends back partially to door 26' 1"

The length of the room is what's giving you the success.
You've noticed that the business part of the panel starts quite a bit higher up on the 20.7s than it does on your old 3.6s.
You need more distance between yourself and the speaker to get it to sound right.
That's what defeated me, I couldn't get far back enough as my living room was too short and extending the house wasn't an option.  I like speakers but not THAT much.

You're so right about them coming alive at lower volume, too.  Someday I'll get another pair but not in this house.

Hi Elizabeth
How are you finding the sound with both sides done.
Have you tried both values, any difference in sound?
Thanks for sharing.

Found an online site chokes.com with different types and value chokes. Looks like reasonable prices. Not sure which if any would work best with different model Maggie speakers.

Hey Elizabeth
How are those 20.7 doing as they continue to break in. Are you noticing any changes in sound, what did you settle on for jumpers.

Wow "sounds" like the enjoyment you're getting was well worth it. It's great when a purchase is all good. Just noticing in other posts there was concern raise about your room width and possibly to much bass from 20.7's, how did those issues work out?

Some of those HiFi Tuning fuses are slow blow and will not protect at all.
